Scotty works in sculpture, installation, and performance, and is interested in participatory projects and collaborations between citizens the natural world. He came to Shared Space by way of canoe, and showed up after a week on the river with a deer skeleton and a mossy lawn chair. He used these materials to construct a puppet. Outside of the studio he chose to engage directly with the local population by designing a survey with multiple choice questions about human relationships with the natural world. Scotty debuted his anthropomorphized deer carcass puppet, Quintus, in a performance presenting his findings from the survey.
