Resident Artist, June 5 - June 16 2015 Heather uses the process of observation as the foundation of her drawing, illustration, and animation work. She came to Shared Space with the intention of organizing a drawing club with the other resident artists, heading out to make plein air sketches in the landscape. She quickly became fascinated by Pentwater’s ice cream culture, and began rounding up the group to visit the local ice cream parlor so she could draw people in the act of enjoying their treats. She compiled her drawings into a zine titled Cone Lickers, named after the playful nickname for ice cream seeking tourists in the area. Heather was never without a film camera, and never short on ideas of fun things to do. Her range of talent was evident at her slide talk, an impromptu photo shoot at a mini gold course, a screening of her animations at our fundraiser, and at our in-house karaoke party.
